Moniteau County Sheriff Fires Two Employees Over Social Media Posts

MONITEAU COUNTY – The Moniteau County Sheriff had to fire two employees for posting derogatory posts on social media.

Sheriff Tony Wheatley said in a news release today that jail employee Dillon Davenport and LT. Kevin Morse were both fired after he became aware of the posts on Saturday. The sheriff says the post involved making fun of people with disabilities

Davenport is a jailer who has been with the department for about six months. Wheatley says Morse was with the department for about 10 years. The posts started as a joke between employees, but Wheatley said the “so-called” joke was in poor taste.
