Cool sunshine and beautiful today, spotty shower chances midweek —
Clear skies are giving way to cooling temperatures and calm winds give way to less mixing of the air — both of these are aiding fog development this morning. Patchy to locally dense fog is possible, especially near rivers, lakes, and valleys. Use headlights!
High pressure is in control today bringing mostly sunny skies and pleasant north winds. Highs will be below average in the middle and upper 60’s, the average is 74 degrees.
Tonight skies remain clear with cool temperatures dipping into the 40’s.
By tomorrow a stationary front sets up across the Ozarks with the jet stream, or path of storminess, overhead. This path will let weak disturbances roll through the Ozarks, giving way to a chance for a few spotty showers/ thunderstorms. This is not an organized pattern, so no severe weather is expected.
Highs will be warm on steady southerly surface winds both Tuesday and Wednesday — middle 70’s on Tuesday are expected, highs near 80 degrees possible Wednesday.
The jet stream, or path of storms, lifts north out of the area on Thursday bringing another warm, high-pressure center into the Ozarks. Southerly winds really start to kick, coupled with sunshine highs pop into the middle 80’s both Thursday and Friday.
A more potent storm system develops by the weekend with showers/ storms likely by Saturday and Sunday.
