Wind Chill Advisory in effect – Dangerously cold temps/ chills this morning —
WIND CHILL ADVISORY in effect until 10 AM for most of the Ozarks. Wind chills as cold as -15 degrees in MO, as cold as -5 degrees in northern AR. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes! Dress in layers, cover extremities, and limit time outdoors!
Arctic high pressure is in place, keeping it bitter and bright today. Despite mostly sunny skies, north winds and Arctic air will keep highs struggling for the 20’s in most spots. HIgh 22 degrees in Springfield will feel like 10 degrees with the wind chills.
Bitter cold continue tonight. Mostly clear skies and Arctic air will keep lows in the single digits feeling near and below 0 degrees.
Cold sunshine returns on Tuesday with highs a little bit closer to freezing but still 20 degrees below normal.
The Arctic air finally kicks to the east on Wednesday as southerly winds take over. We’ll have mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 40’s, still about 10 degrees below average.
A weak disturbance will bring a chance for showers late on Thursday — with highs in the upper 40’s expect all rain.
Shower chances continue on Friday with highs around 50 degrees.
By Saturday, a strong low-pressure center will roll through. We’ll be in the warm sector so expect all rain and gusty southerly winds with highs near 60 degrees.
Seasonal sunshine returns on Sunday with highs near 50 degrees.
