COLUMBIA, Mo. — The number of mumps cases at the University of Missouri has risen to 228, an increase from 193 just last week.
The Mizzou health center says at least 190 students have recovered since Wednesday but 38 active cases have remained.
Infected students obtained the required two vaccines for measles, mumps, and rubella.
In an attempt to control the outbreak, the university is recommending students receive a third shot.
