Missouri Department of Labor offering business plan to prevent laying off workers

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Labor is also offering a shared work plan for businesses as an alternative to laying off workers.

Employees work reduced hours and are able to receive a portion of unemployment benefits.

Also, over the weekend, the United States Small Business Administration approved Missouri’s request for a disaster declaration.

This lets small business owners affected by COVID-19 get low-interest loans.
