Missouri Attorney General Warns of Tax Scams

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.–A tax season warning from the state’s top cop.

Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley says his office sees an uptick in consumer complaints this time of year from people who take phone calls from scammers.

Hawley says the crooks call you and say you failed to pay a tax bill and threaten to arrest you.

A reminder that the IRS will never call you demanding payment or ask for cash.
