The incident took place at the Kampgrounds of America east of Jackson, Mississippi over the Memorial Day holiday.

Richardson’s husband, Sergeant Franklin Richardson, recently returned home from a nine-month deployment with the Army National Guard in the middle east. “It’s kind of crazy – you go over there and don’t have a gun pointed at you and you come back here and the first thing that happen is you have a gun pointed at you.”

In a statement, a spokesman for Kampgrounds of America spoke on behalf of the company ” (the company) does not condone the use of a firearm in any manner on our properties…”

The property manager involved in the incident has since been fired.
