Miscalculation Could Mean Missourians Owe More in Taxes

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A 15-year-old miscalculation could mean many Missourians will owe more than expected this tax season.

The miscalculation was made in the state tax table and now Missouri lawmakers are questioning the Director of the Department of Revenue about why this wasn’t communicated to taxpayers sooner.

Department of Revenue Director Joel Walters said he could have done more.

He also says the Department has created a social media campaign to inform taxpayers.
