ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A St. Louis Metrolink station is temporarily shut down–after a man shoots a security officer.
It happened Thursday (Nov. 17) when the security guard followed a man he noticed didn’t pay a fare.
That’s when the 22-year-old suspect suddenly turned and shot the security officer in the shoulder.
Two St. Louis County were arriving on a train when they heard the shots and chased after the suspect.
Police say he ignored their commands to stop, so they shot him three times.
The suspect was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The security guard’s injury meanwhile, is said to be non-life threatening.
Metrolink suspended some train service after the shooting but was back up and running a few hours later.
