New York (CBS News) – Artificial intelligence could prevent unnecessary tests for patients with chest pain. London researchers looked at nearly 1000 patients coming to the E.R. With chest pain and found the technology made the right decision identifying patients who don’t need further testing.

Family doctors need more training in the opioid crisis. That’s according to new research from England which shows doctors are not equipped to deal with the psychological challenges patients face when stopping pain killers.

And a diet that is effective at reducing high blood pressure may also help when it comes to preventing heart failure. A study at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center looked at the dash diet, which encourages fruits, veggies, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy. Researchers found people who stuck to the diet, had a significantly lower risk of developing heart failure.
