NEW YORK (CBS NEWS) – Colorado researchers have discovered a gene in some women that can break down hormones found in birth control, increasing their risk of pregnancy. Contraceptives are not 100-percent effective but the reason why has never been explained.
A new CDC report suggests more people are getting tested for HIV. Researchers say HIV testing increased among adults from nearly 36-percent in 2006 to 43-percent in 2018.
And, people over 50 who don’t eat a healthy diet are not at greater risk of being diagnosed with dementia later in life. Researchers followed 8,200 adults for nearly 25 years and found diet quality did not effect dementia risk.
