Massage Therapist Convicted of Sexual Assault

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield massage therapist was found guilty of sexually violating women on Aug. 6.

William Gene Morlang, 36, was convicted of two counts of sodomy in the second degree and one count of sexual abuse in the second degree after he reportedly touched and rubbed his clients inappropriately.

All four women who testified at Morlang’s trial said he waited until they were in a facedown position before he began his inappropriate touching. The women all said they were scared and did not know what to do when it happened because they were alone in the room with Morlang.

The jury deliberated for nine and a half hours before returning the verdict.

Morlang is subject to a sentence of two to seven years on each sodomy account and up to one year on the sexual abuse count, according to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney.

A sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.
