SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Aurora, Missouri is given probation for buying one of the shotguns used in last year’s killing spree outside Jewish centers in Overland Park, Kansas.

John Mark Reidle, 48,  was sentenced Thursday for lying on a form when he purchased the gun used by Frazier Glenn Cross (pictured above) to kill three people in Overland Park, KS at a Jewish Center and nearby retirement home in April 2014.

U.S. District Court Beth Phillips sentenced Reidle to 5 years probation and a special assessment of $100.

Reidle was indicted in May 2014 for making a false statement to a Wal-mart store when he purchased a Remington Model 870 12-guage shotgun used by Cross in the shootings. Reidle stated he was buying the weapon for himself.

He pleaded guilty to the federal charge in October, 2015.

Cross was sentenced to death in November, 2015.
