SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Springfield man was sentenced Friday to 45 years for a shooting at the Bass Pro parking lot in 2016.

According to a news release from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, 46-year-old Greg A. Marvin went to Bass Pro on Oct. 8, 2016, and parked across the parking lot from where “he knew his ex-girlfriend was parked.” Marvin then went up to his ex-girlfriend and began shooting a man with her.

Marvin then began striking his girlfriend repeatedly, according to the news release. Bass Pro surveillance video showed the shooting and assault. The video also showed Marvin going back over to the man he had shot after striking his ex-girlfriend and “continue to assault him.”

The jury recommended a sentence of “25 years for first-degree assault, 25 years for armed criminal action and 20 for first-degree domestic assault,” according to the release.

The judge sentenced Marvin to 45 years.
