Man Pleads Guilty to Reduced DWI Charges in Fatal Crash


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Republic man has pleaded guilty to three DWI charges, including one that was reduced from DWI in the death of another.

According to online court records, Daniel Thomas McLeod pleaded guilty to charges of a habitual DWI, DWI with serious physical injury and DWI with a person under the age of 17 in the vehicle on Jan. 24. 

According to previous KOLR10 reporting, McLeod was arrested after a crash in May 2017 that killed 25-year-old Shane House, of Springfield, after the car went off the road and flipped. Two others in the vehicle were injured. 

McLeod’s sentencing hearing is set for May 22 at 1:30 p.m.
