Man Killed in Wheelchair After Getting Struck by Hummer Vehicle

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Hummer was entering a parking lot near Sunshine Avenue as it hit a man in a wheelchair.

According to the Springfield Police Department, they responded to the crash at 12:58 a.m early Saturday morning.

The person who drove the Hummer is Jordan Neely-Smith, 17 years old from Springfield.

After she hit the man, the Hummer driver kept driving across Seiger Street after hitting many objects before coming to a stop.

Kendrick A. Johnson, the man in the wheelchair, 39 years old from Springfield was pronounced dead at a local hospital as results of injuries from the fatal crash.

The Police say the investigation is ongoing and lab results will determine if Neely-Smith was drinking or on drugs to be the factor of the crash.
