SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A head-on crash with a semi truck killed a Marshfield man early Friday morning near Strafford, according to the online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to the report, 33-year-old Lynden Verser, of Marshfield, was driving west in the eastbound lane of Interstate 44 and struck the semi driven by 31-year-old Mohamed Yusuf, of Aurora, Colorado, around 2 a.m. Friday.
The Greene County Coroner pronounced Verser dead at 2:08 a.m., according to the report.
Verser and Yusuf were wearing seatbelts.
Yusuf was taken to a Springfield hospital with minor injuries.
A semi-truck accident at about 2:30 a.m. Friday shut down parts of eastbound I-44 for multiple hours.
The accident occurred close to mile marker 88.2 near Strafford.
At least two vehicles were involved in the accident.
The Strafford Fire Department, Strafford Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol all responded.
There is no information about injuries caused by the accident or how the accident happened.
