TEXAS COUNTY, Mo. — A man who was pursued by the Cabool Police Department twice, ended the last chase by fatally shooting himself.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G troopers were notified that a person being sought for an active Texas County felony warrant was sitting inside a vehicle south of Cabool, Missouri.

A trooper went to the location and tried to contact the person inside the vehicle, but the man fled.

The trooper pursued the vehicle but eventually called off the pursuit after losing sight of him.

Awhile after, a Cabool officer found the vehicle again and reinitiated the pursuit.

The man entered the business district of Cabool and exited his vehicle, showing a handgun by pointing it at his head.

Around 5:15 p.m. he was confronted by officers in front of another business and after multiple demands to set the gun down, fatally shot himself.

An autopsy is scheduled for June 28 in Springfield.
