Man Found Guilty of Beating Homeless Victim with Metal Pipe

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Springfield man has been convicted of beating a homeless man back in May of 2017.

Courtney Duane Blade, 39, was convicted of assault in the 1st degree, armed criminal action, and misdemeanor stealing.

On May 18, 2017, the victim, a homeless adult man, was found beaten in downtown Springfield.

After an investigation, it was found that Blade beat the victim with a metal pipe after the homeless man tried to start a relationship with Blade’s girlfriend.

The victim had multiple abrasions to his back and a fractured bone in his arm resulting in serious physical injury.

Blade’s sentencing is set for the beginning of April.
