Man Found Dead in Monett House Fire

MONETT, Mo. — The male resident of a home which caught fire late Monday night was found dead after firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.

The man was identified as 58-year-old Marty Dorn of Monett, Mo.

It was reported out about 11:30 p.m. Monday in a two-story house on Euclid Avenue in Monett. Police say Dorn was found after the fire was extinguished. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the State Fire Marshal’s office is helping investigate.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place.
