Man drowns in Elk River trying to save female swimmer


MCDONALD COUNTY – A Wichita, Kansas man died Friday, June 21, while trying to save an unidentified female swimmer at the low head dam on the Elk River, a report from Missouri State Highway Patrol says.

Jacob Farley, 26, of Wichita, dove in to try and save the female, but ended up drowning.

The female was later rescued by the Noel Fire Department.
