FAIRLAND, Okla. (KODE) – Grand River Dam Authority officials say they received a call around 2:30 Sunday morning concerning a vehicle that had rolled into the Neosho River underneath Conner’s Bridge.
A female was in the vehicle at the time, and a man jumped in to rescue her.
It’s reported the man helped get her out, but was unable to make it out of the water himself. The GRDA combed the scene for hours using boat and sonar technology. His body was found his body later that morning around 7:30.
The woman was sent to a Miami, OK hospital upon being rescued.
The man’s name has not been released yet, and the investigation is still ongoing.
