Storm sends tree through family’s roof in Miller

Local News

MILLER, Mo.– Rick and Susan Taylor aren’t the only two people in the Ozarks to see the damages caused by strong winds and storms on Tuesday but they may have gotten a closer look than most.

“We were sitting in the living room kind of watching TV,” Rick explains. “It was the worst I’d ever seen the wind blow.”

Suddenly, that wind blew just hard enough to send this tree through the top of Taylors’ house.

“There was a big bolt of lightning, and then a big boom,” Susan says, “and then another big boom was the actual tree falling on the house.”

The tree is pushing through the ceiling into the kitchen. But that’s not the only part of the house the Taylors say they’re going to have to repair.

“It tore the ceiling out of the bathroom,” Rick says. “It shook the whole house.”

For now, the Taylors are just worried about what they’ll do next.

“[I’m] scared,” Susan says. “Scared and unsure of what we’re going to do.”
