OZARK, Mo.- The City of Ozark Board of Aldermen did not pass a citywide masking ordinance Monday night.

The vote was:

  • Yes- three
  • No- two
  • Abstain- one

The ordinance needed four yes votes in order to pass. Alderman Jason Shaffer abstained his vote.

The vote comes one week after the Board heard public comment from those for and against a masking ordinance in the city.

The Board will hold a second reading of the proposed ordinance before voting.
