Low average gas prices predicted for Labor Day weekend

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Gas prices this Labor Day weekend are expected to be the lowest they’ve been since 2004.

A new report from gasbuddy.com predicts the national average for a gallon of gas will be $2.19.

That’s down 37 cents from last year.

The trend will likely continue through the fall because, according to the company, due to COVID-19 causing fewer people to drive.
