UPDATE 9/19 1:30 p.m.: Springfield police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Kenneth Wright.

Wright was found by the police in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 414 E. Harrison with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. Next of kin has been contacted.

The suspect has not been identified at this time.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-8477.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man has died after a shooting near Harrison and Thomas Ave. in Springfield Friday, Sept. 18.

The call came in around 9:12 p.m. and approximately 12 officers responded.

Police say a man was shot, he is critically injured in the hospital with wounds to the chest. He later died from his injuries.

Springfield police say this is all under investigation.
