Blood drive raises money for families impacted by Springfield shooting

Local News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Officer Christopher Walsh and three others were killed when a gunman opened fire in a gas station on East Chestnut Expressway back in March of 2020. Now a local blood bank is raising funds to help their surviving families.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is holding a blood drive, which kicks off on Sept. 15, 2020. The blood bank says, for every blood donation made during the drive, it’ll donate $5 to help their families.

T-shirts will be given to those who donate.
