SPRINGFIELD – Normally it isn’t very nice to talk trash, but at one fundraiser today that was the whole point.
This year’s “Talking Trash” fundraiser benefitted the Springfield Compost Collective.
Businesses and community members gathered to learn about composting and food scrap pick up programs.
“So this is a way to showcase that we are creating systems here in Springfield to get the food scraps out of the landfill,” Justine Campbell, Founder of Springfield Compost Collective said. “And we try to use the word scraps because we don’t want to look at it as being a waste.”
