SPRINGFIELD – Over the past few weeks, nearly 300 potential blood donations have been lost, because blood drives have been canceled.
Now, all blood types are in short supply.
That’s why the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is asking donors to respond this week.
A spokesperson for the center told us this time of year can be tough.
“We usually do a pretty good job of scheduling the right donations and the right donation levels but in this case when sickness and winter weather pops up, sometimes those donation rates go low,” Chris Pilgrim from the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks said. “They’ve been low for a period of several weeks so we’re asking donors to help us boost those levels up.”
