JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The legislative session has come to an end and now a ban on abortion after eight weeks is headed to the governor’s desk for a signature.
In the clip above you can see house lawmakers throw their papers into the air last night. It’s a tradition signaling the end of the session.
Senator from Springfield, lincoln hough called this a successful session.
“It’s the first time we’ve seen some real core funding adjustments and increases for higher education. And that fits in perfectly in my opinion with workforce development.” says Sen. Lincoln Hough (R) Springfield. “This has been a good year. I’m specifically happy about the equity funding that we got for Missouri State. That was a priority not just for the folks in Southwest Missouri but a lot of the legislators up here and it was a collaborative effort to get that done.”
