KIMBERLING CITY, Mo. – A fire has damaged a Kimberling City shopping center, a building that has been around for nearly four decades.

The department said a fire broke out at the Buttonwood Center early Tuesday morning and caused a “devastating loss.”

No injuries have been reported, but several stores appear to have been damaged in the fire.

OzarksFirst has a crew on the way to assess the damage.

The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Deputy Fire Chief says the fire started around 1:30 am and burned the 2nd-story of at least four businesses.

A business owner noticed the fire and called the fire department. Three other fire departments assisted Stone County in putting out the fire, including Nixa Fire Department.

Southern Stone County Fire’s Deputy Chief said all of the buildings have smoke and water damage.

The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
