SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Thursday, an anonymous message was found at Kickapoo High School threatening violence at the school.

Springfield Public Schools released a statement saying, “The message did not reference students or staff and lacked specifics. All appropriate measures are being taken to fully investigate this message”.

School administrators are working with school police officers in the investigation which has not yet produced any information that would cause the school to believe that this is a credible threat.

The school will still be in session tomorrow with their normal schedule, but there will be a heightened sense of awareness and there will be an increased presence of additional school police officers at the school.

Springfield Public Schools also says, “Threats of violence are not taken lightly and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken upon completion of the investigation”.

Information can be shared directly with school administrators, through the Text Tip Line at (417) 319-2901 or by calling School Police at (417) 523-2911.
