MADISON COUNTY, Mo. — Some say it’s fun, others think it’s dangerous.
Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley announced a lawsuit today against a company called “The Offsets” who own an area in Madison County, Missouri, that use to be a former quarry.
The place is surrounded by bluffs, some as high as 40 feet, from which people jump into the water.
And now after 9 people have been killed there, including two since the Fourth of July, and dozens injured, the Attorney General wants it shut down.
Hawley says it poses a serious danger to the public and the owners of Offsets haven’t done anything to prevent dangerous activities or placed life-saving equipment near the bluffs.
