JOPLIN, Mo. — The Joplin Fire Department announced in a Facebook Post Wednesday that they have discovered members of the public are receiving phone calls soliciting donations, but the phone calls are not coming from the fire department.
The fire department said in the post that they are “not currently participating in any fundraising efforts through phone solicitations.”
The fire department said phone calls like these are often scams and the local agencies mentioned do not receive any of the “donations.”
