SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Hulston Library at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield will be closed for a portion of June.
The library will be closed from June 2 through June 17 so that the space can be used to prepare museum artifacts for shipment to a temporary storage facility.
The artifacts move is in preparation for a remodeling project scheduled to begin this Fall.
Ted Hillmer, Superintendent of Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield, explains briefly what the Hulston Library is undergoing, “We are building and modifying our building gere in October of this year, and we are very excited that we have the opportunity that we have a construction project that will start. Unfortunately, the building will be void of all people and void of all artifacts and books. So we are in the process right now of boxing some of those up. “
All items will be returned during the summer of 2020, after construction is completed.
