Hollywood star Doris Day dead at 97

CALIFORNIA – Hollywood is mourning the loss of one of its brightest stars of the 1950s and 60s.

The actress Doris Day died of pneumonia at her home in California, surrounded by friends. She was 97.

Day played opposite many men including Rock Hudson, Clark Gable and Frank Sinatra. 

Day won four Golden Globes and the Presidential Medal of Freedom during her career.
