HOLLISTER, Mo. — Juice will be flowing during the Hollister Grape and Fall Festival on Saturday.
This all-day festival will feature entertainment, food, crafts and the famous Grape Stomp on historic Downing Street in Hollister.
Lindwell Winery will provide tasting, the festival’s first ever Craftsman’s Village hosts over 50 working artisans and two entertainment stages will play live music.
You can bring the kids who will enjoy bouncy houses and pony rides.
If you’re interested in the Grape Stomp, here’s what you have to do to win.
“They stand in these giant vats of grapes and they perform ninety seconds to whatever their favorite song is,” Jim Barber, Grape Stomp host, said. “They wear costumes and the audience cheers them on. Of course, we have a panel of judges. They like bribes and they’ll accept your bribes.”
Barber says the winner of the Grape Stomp gets an ugly monkey trophy to place on your mantle, or the back of your closet, whatever you prefer.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is free to everyone.
