FORSYTH, Mo — The old highway 76 bridge in Forsyth came down today.
Engineers used a demolition company to collapse the old bridge which was the only crossing for miles across Bull Shoals.
There’s already a new bridge just to the west of it.
The new bridge cost $10.4 million to build.
The older, steel truss bridge no longer met current criteria for clearance or width.
That blast was designed to go straight down and to the east to avoid the new bridge. All of the materials from the old one will be recycled.
