SPRINGFIELD, Mo- A Springfield man was sentenced yesterday for selling heroin to an undercover police officer back in August of 2014.

Wesley Dale Houseal, 21-years-old, of Springfield was sentenced by The Honorable David Jones to the minimum five year sentence as well as placed in a 120 day treatment program in the Department of Corrections. If Houseal is able to complete the treatment program, he will be released on probation.

During the sentencing, an audio recording was played of the undercover buy in which Houseal brags about the quality of heroin he was selling. During the sale Houseal warned the undercover officer to be careful in he gave heroin to a “banger” which is a person who injects heroin, because it could kill them.

Houseal told probation and parole that he didn’t need treatment. The probation argued that the Court should consider that fact that he previously walked away from probation in two Arizona felony drug cases.
