SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Here’s a look at some events that are happening around the Springfield area today.

The City of Republic Parks & Recreation Department hosts the 2nd annual Got Mud? Run today. The Got Mud? Run is the only mud run in southwest Missouri that is exclusively for youth. Kids can splash, run, jump, climb and crawl their way through courses of varying length and obstacle difficulty. There will be four different runs at different times, for different age groups and varying difficulty. Mud Rush #1 begins at 8:30 a.m. for four to six year olds. Mud Rush #2 begins at 9:30 a.m. for seven to 10 year olds. Mud Rush #3 begins at 10:30 a.m. for seven to 10 year olds. The final Mud Rush begins at 11:30 a.m. for 11 to 15 year olds. Rublemizers brings Rublecon 2016 to University Plaza from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. The sixth year of Rublecon brings many vendors who bring thousands of comics, action figures and other collectibles. Tickets are $5 for Saturday or $8 for the whole weekend.

LibraryCon is ComicCon…sort of. It’s the same amount of show but on a smaller scale and you can go right here in Springfield today from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a lineup of comic book authors and illustrators, cosplayers, graphic novels discussions and more. LibraryCon is located at the Library Center.

The Springfield Cardinals only have three home games left in the 2016 regular season and one of those games is tonight against the Tulsa Drillers. First pitch is at 6:10 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.

The Branson United Methodist Church and the Branson Parks and Recreation Department hosts a Movie in the Park at the Branson RecPlex baseball fields. The gates open at 8 p.m. with “The Good Dinosaur” beginning at dusk. The event is free with free water popcorn provided. Call (417) 335 – 2368 for more information.
