SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Here are some events happening around the area today.

37th Annual Sertoma Chili Cook-Off at 11 a.m. at the Springfield Expo Center. Sample more than 70 cooking teams and enjoy live music on two stages. Proceeds benefit Springfield Boys and Girls Club. Tickets are $15-18.

28th Annual Lawn and Garden Show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. Over 100 exhibits offer one stop shopping for all your outside needs. Tickets are $5.

Visioncon 2018 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Hilton Branson Center. Missouri’s premiere comic book, science fiction, fantasy, RPG and gaming convention. Tickets are $40 for adults and $30 ages 13-17. 

Vulture Venture from noon to 5 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery on the west end of Lake Taneycomo near Branson. Many viewing opportunities to see these birds both outside and inside. Event is free.
