Hammons Field Gears up for Cards Home Opener with New Additions

SPRINGFIELD, Mo – Baseball is back in the Ozarks!

The Springfield Cardinals will play their home opener tonight at Hammons Field against the Midland Rockhounds.

Over the years the Springfield Cards has been the starting team for many who have made it to the big leagues with people like Kolten Wong, Alex Reyes, Tommy Pham, and Carson Kelly. But this year you’ll want to keep your eyes on Andrew Knizner who’s currently ranked 9th in the Cardinals Prospects.

“Once you get playing during the season, you are going out there to compete. Spring training is more about the development and working on your craft. It’s nice to get out there and to play for real wins and losses,” says Andrew Knizner, Cardinals Catcher.

Now Hammons Field will be offering new foods starting this season and you can expect them in the home opener. Hammons Field has announced they will have Chick-Fil-A for Thursday through Saturday games and they are bringing in a new Flaming Hot Cheetos Hot Dog.
