Gun Owners in Arkansas Worried About Enhanced Carry Bill

News

ARKANSAS – Arkansas legislators are still working on legislation surrounding an enhanced carry license bill.

January 1st is when gun owners can start the training but a hiccup in the bill’s language could affect who and when those licenses start going out.

The Arkansas State Police’s Association says the way the law is written now, if you’re a concealed carry instructor that doesn’t have the time or space to teach the enhanced classes, you wouldn’t be able to teach at all.

“There was a rush to get that bill out of the door and onto the desk of the governor. We didn’t look at every word and think about the implications of that,” concealed carry instructor Nathan House says.

House says with fewer concealed carry instructors, it could drive the cost of concealed carry classes up.
