SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Few people enjoy the process of dealing with government offices especially when paying taxes or getting licenses.
Collector of Revenue for Greene County, Leah Betts, said she understands most people have “less than good” experiences with government agencies.
Betts said her theory involves realizing there is no competition in government, which means people can’t choose to go the tax collector’s office down the street.
Betts said knowing this, she wants her staff to treat people as if they had this choice. She said it all boils down to treating people like people instead of numbers.
When you visit the office you might be surprised to see all the fun signage as well as unique shirts the staff wears.
Tune in tonight to KOLR 10 News at 5 & 6 as reporter Nyzah McDonald shows us why the Greene County Assessor’s office adopted a new work culture.
