Girl Injured in Battlefield Mall Shooting, One Suspect Still Sought

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Police are investigating a shooting at Battlefield Mall in Springfield where one person was hurt.

According to a press release, Springfield police were called at at 8:07 p.m. to the entrance of the men’s Dillard’s at the Battlefield Mall.

There was an argument between two men that led to gunshots. No one was shot directly, one female juvenile was injured with a grazing wound and has minor injuries.

One man was taken into custody but the other has still not been located.

Police officers were seen combing the parking lot nearby for evidence.

According to people inside the mall, the Battlefield Mall was placed on lockdown.

Springfield police spokeperson Lisa Cox says an unoccupied vehicle parked at the nearby McDonald’s was ALSO hit by a round.

A second suspect in custody as of noon Friday.
