Beautiful today! Much-needed rain this weekend —
DENSE FOG ADVISORY in effect this morning for the eastern Ozarks until 8 AM. Patchy to locally dense fog is possible this morning. Take it slow on the roads in the event of low visibility, and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you.
High pressure is nudging in behind yesterday’s front. That’s bringing another dry, pleasant air mass into the Ozarks.
Today will be beautiful! Mostly sunny skies, pleasant humidity, and comfortable temperatures. Highs pop into the middle and upper 80’s with the sunshine.
A few more clouds filter in tonight with lows in the middle 60’s.
The pattern turns unsettled by Saturday with a stalled front to the south nudging moisture and upper-level disturbances back into the Ozarks.
Scattered showers/ storms are likely on Saturday, a few storms could be strong. Locally heavy rain and frequent lightning would be threats. Clouds keep temperatures in the middle 80’s.
Sunday will be much of the same, scattered showers/ storms likely. Clouds keep temperatures in the lower 80’s.
With the stalled front and lots of moisture pulling into the area, locally heavy rain will be a threat all weekend. Localized flooding is possible if storms dump heavy rain over the same area more than once. Overall, we’re looking at widespread 1-2″ of much-needed rain this weekend. Areas to the southwest of Springfield could get a little more as the upper-level disturbances track a hair southwest.
A few storms could linger Monday and Tuesday as the boundaries try to get pushed out by a building ridge, or warm, dry pattern to the southwest.
Temperatures stay in the lower 80’s with a cool air mass in place Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday, the ridge of high pressure will clear out the skies and warm up the temps. Expect highs back in the middle and upper 80’s under mostly sunny skies.
