Former Texas County Sheriff and Deputy Both Plead Not Guilty To List of Charges

TEXAS COUNTY, Mo.– The former Texas County Sheriff and a former deputy have each pleaded not guilty to the list of charges facing each of them. 

Online court records indicate that both James Sigman, who was arrested and removed from his position as sheriff earlier this month, and former deputy Jennifer Tomaszewski pleaded not guilty at a formal arraignment held on July 24th. 

Both Sigman and Tomaszewski are facing the following charges: 

-First Degree Assault
-First Degree Robbery
-First Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child
-Unlawful use of a Weapon
-First Degree Harassment 
-Misuse of Official Information By a Public Servant
-False Impersonation

Sigman’s next court appearance will be for trial setting, that appearance is set for August 7th. Tomaszewski’s trial setting comes two weeks later on August 21st. Both court appearances are scheduled for 9 am.
