SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — One of the most recognizable names in Nascar made a pit stop in Springfield on Saturday.
Mark Martin was at the fairgrounds this afternoon for his introduction into the Ozark Area Racer’s Hall of Fame.
In addition to an autograph session, those in attendance could check out memorabilia and vintage cars.
Martin told us when he hit the Springfield track in the 70s that he thought he had made it to the big time.
“I’m grateful for the time that I had racing in this area. It was a very important time in my young career. I learned from some of the greatest race car drivers ever.” Martin said.
In just a couple weeks, Martin will be inducted into the Nascar Hall of Fame.
