BRANSON, Mo.- Former Major League Baseball player Billy Beane spoke in Branson Thursday night to help raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks.

The organization is celebrating it’s 23rd year of serving kids in the community by hosting the Thanks-4-Giving Gala.  The event was held at 7 p.m. at the Branson Convention Center.  Beane was the featured speaker.

Beane, who helps manage the Oakland A’s, says he likes to combine his knowledge of baseball analytics with his experience working on the Hollywood film “Moneyball.”

“I try to combine the two and hopefully make it somewhat interesting, somewhat entertaining, and certainly, given we’re in the home state of Brad Pitt, there’s always a little room for a conversation about the movie,” said Beane.  “So I’ll make sure I sprinkle some of that in as well,” he added.

Tickets for the Thanks-4-Giving event cost $175, while entry level sponsorhip tickets were $2,500 for a table of 10.
