SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Former Gov. Eric Greitens pardoned five individuals before he left office. One of them was a woman involved in the shooting death of a Springfield jeweler.
Judy Henderson was convicted of capital murder in 1982.
Greitens had commuted her sentence to time served in December of last year.
Henderson had served 35 years behind bars.
In 1981 Henderson helped her boyfriend rob a Springfield jeweler. It’s reported that at her boyfriend’s direction, she met the man and persuaded him to go to the outskirts of town where her boyfriend fatally shot the man.
Henderson was also wounded by a bullet.
Her boyfriend went free after his trial and Henderson received 50 years behind bars.
It’s reported her lawyers lied to her about the offer of a plea deal during her trial.
She is now 68 years old.
